How is the procedure performed?
To augment the chin, an incision is made in the natural crease inside the mouth, then a space is created to place the synthetic material implant that comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and then the incisions are closed. When placed orally, there are no visible scars.
When the size deficit in the chin is greater than 10 mm, a sliding mentoplasty is performed.
Mentoplasty usually takes an hour and patients can go home the same day.

What postoperative care do I have to follow?
After the implant, careful disinfection of the area must be maintained, especially if the implant has been done through the endobucal route. Edema may persist for some time, and can be improved by lymphatic drainage massage.
