The Forehead Lift is a surgical technique that improves the aesthetics of the forehead, eyebrows and the frown.  It improves the situation of drooping eyebrows and eyelids and eliminates or improves wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows.

When performed in isolation or with the eyelids, it is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation and does not require admission to the Hospital. It can also be associated with a face and neck lift, which globally rejuvenates the entire face.

There are several ways to perform this operation depending on the signs of aging that the patient presents. Their exploration will determine the location and size of the incisions, as well as the areas to be treated.

Aging of the frontal region.

One of the earliest signs of aging is drooping of the eyebrows and the formation of bags or folds of skin on the eyelids. A forehead lift can improve transverse wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, drooping brows, and slight excess skin on the upper eyelids. The extent of this intervention can be highly variable depending on the problem of each patient. It can cover the entire forehead, eyebrows and eyelids, or be limited to specific areas of the eyebrow

The frontal lift surgery can be performed open, that is, making an incision inside the scalp, which can be located only in the temporal region above the ears, or it can extend from one ear to another.  It can also be done endoscopically, with very small incisions located inside the scalp. This last technique allows you a faster recovery.

After the operation

The postoperative period is not usually painful. The discomfort that generally appears is usually well controlled with regular analgesics and is usually located at the margins of the incision.

It is normal to feel the skin on your forehead somewhat numb, this sensation is temporary and disappears in a few weeks.

Consider as normal that the forehead and eyelids are swollen and present ecchymoses or bruises, this aspect will only last about 7 - 10 days. The period of disability is normally 10 days, after which time you can return to work.

Physical exercises can be resumed in 3 to 4 weeks depending on your evolution.

It is a procedure that gives very satisfactory and long-lasting results.
